ive truly hit the point where i barely can enjoy the historical costumers i was really liking last yr bc i find it so intellectually dishonest how fake-feminist they talk about fashion and shape/silhouette, like i'm not expecting feminist analysis in every video but if you're constantly going to make the argument the argument that corsets are great or even the slightly more nuanced take, that maybe it's fine some corsets were painful bc of fashion bc ppl will choose fashion over comfort (still very common!), but then never mentioning where the expectation / ideals come from or who is driving fashion is just so.. you're halfway there and just owning it entirely would be so much more honest and not necessarily a bad thing? anyway. back to thinking abt nyostria being tightlaced n uncomfortable for fashion (and horny) reasons.
